Welcome to the 6th Seaweed4Health conference organized by renown phycologists and seaweed enthusiasts including Susan L. Holdt (DTU Foods, Denmark), Stefan Kraan (Ocean Organic Products, Ireland) and Dr. Prannie Rhatigan (Ireland). The conference brings knowledge and experience for research and business within nutraceutical, bioactive and pharmaceutic compounds in seaweed.

The event presents an interdisciplinary approach to discuss the health promoting properties of seaweed compounds and novel developments for functional ingredients that can be used for the formulation of food, feed, nutraceuticals, cosmeceuticals and pharmaceuticals. Furthermore, toxicological aspects and regulatory issues will be discussed, as well as some barriers for the industrial exploitation and commercialization.

The conference will include a cooking show, seaweed collection and a one-day tour to Zanzibar.
