IMTA

IMTA – Integrated Multi-Trophic Aquaculture is an exciting approach to how to build a seafood industry in a circular and sustainable way.

When cultivating e.g. fish together with low trophic species like seaweed and tunicates who can utilize the excess materials from the fish farm. In this way we can form a future regenerative aquaculture industry that leaves the sea area in a better way than today monoculture.

There are several ongoing project looking into IMTA, and it is still many questions to be answered.
